Adwords Editor 7.6.1 Released – Go Get It

Google just released an update to their incredibly useful desktop editor: version 7.6.1 of Adwords Editor is out.

I was just prompted to grab the update as soon as I opened Adwords Editor, so just launch the application to get up to date.

Changes for this version:

  • Ad scheduling and advanced location targeting (radius targeting, excluded locales and city combinations)
  • Ability to update multiple campaigns at once
  • Adds support for YouTube promoted video ads (anyone having success with these?)
  • Checkboxes to update different campaigns and/or specific ad groups across multiple campaigns at once

If you’re managing 1 or 100 Adwords campaigns and still haven’t picked up the Editor yet, use this as your excuse to get it. It makes managing large campaigns and thousands of keywords a LOT easier.

  1. Steff says:

Take care and backup your files before updating, especially with ‘all users’ installtions! We saw data loss on several computers and didn’t manage to work around this issue yet. The user gets a list of all his accounts, but the entries are all greyed out with status ‘not downloaded yet’. The .ape files are still there, but editor cannot access them. Even copying all the settings folders in app data and local data didn’t improve. The only solution: make a backup of each of your campaigns (File -> Save backup) and re-import them after the update.

  2. Good call Steff, thanks for the words of warning! Would hate to lose all that valuable adwords data…
